A few more days and January will be over. I am not sure how I feel about how fast the days have passed. But we have to keep moving on right?! Here is how my January looked like:

What I’m reading:

Who asked you?, by Terry McMillan. I picked this book up just because of the author and I’m so glad. I loved reading this book because of its honesty and how open it is. Terry doesn’t try to sugar coat the experiences of some African-american families in the hood, like I’ve found other African-American writers try to do. She shed lights on the negative aspects of the hood but not in a judgmental way, which I appreciate. This book is real. That’s all I will say for now.

Eat Pray Love, by Elizabeth Gilbert. This my second time reading this book and I also have the movie, can you tell already how much I adore this book? It has honestly become one of my favorite books. It’s about a woman’s journey through 3 countries. We meet Elizabeth who recently came out of a traumatic experience and she opens up about her joy, weaknesses, found happiness and maintenance of peace and love. This book will definitely be read again this year. I see it as an advice book or self help book, because there is so much to be learned from it and it’s not like your typical advice books where the writers are telling you what they THINK, but rather, this book comes from Elizabeth’s real life experiences.

Me before you , Jojo Moyes. This book was so necessary for me to read. It is one of the most important love stories I’ve read in a long time. I laughed, cried, got angry, basically every emotion was felt. I love books that do this to me. How can the greatest love story also be the saddest and a disheartening reminder that love isn’t always enough.or maybe it is. I don’t know. It just gives a new definition of love and the freedom that comes with it.

I would have loved to go in detail about each book but I’ve decided that I will start doing book reviews so be on the look out for those.

What’s up with me?!

I came into the year excited for new beginnings and changes. But I find myself falling back into old patterns, especially worrying. I’ve been worrying about being on vacation for 2.5 months. I am always in school and working and other activities in between. Worried about my future and everything involved in it.

I have been just relaxing and working on self because I have so much time on my hands. My days involve eating, sleeping, and reading.

For next month, I hope to do new exciting things so I can tell you all about it.

I hope your January was all that you hoped for. If not, 11 more months ahead.

If you enjoy my blog, don’t forget to follow, like and share.

Much love ❤
