this is what hopelessness looks like

It looks like Ferguson.

Last night we all witnessed an injustice of the highest order. Mike Brown’s murderer walked without even a public trial. A black boy was killed and the media made him seem like he deserved it and the person who killed him was the victim.

so yes, black people took it to the streets. They are protesting, they are rioting, etc…I do not condone violence but what are a hopeless people supposed to do? if their black lives doesn’t matter, then what is there to lose?

people are afraid for black lives, for black sons, I am afraid for my black brother…

people are fed up and do not believe in the justice system and they are hurting.

But I pray that God calms fears and hearts.

May we see God in all this. “hope has a name,” and it is Jesus!!

  1. May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; may the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

May you be full of joy as you covenant, with all your heart and with all your being, to put to death those behaviors, thoughts, and attitudes in your life that refuse to seek the Lord God. May you be full of joy because of this oath you make with all your heart and because you seek Him with all your will; you will find Him and He will give you rest all around.

May you be confident because there is hope in the Lord. May you look around yourself and lie down in security because the Lord is your protector. May you rest because no one can make you afraid.

May your soul wait in silence for God only, for your hope is from Him. May you be set apart to dedicate the most holy things for God, to offer sacrifices in the Lord’s presence, to serve the Lord, and to pronounce blessings in His name forever.

I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

May you be confident that you are God’s son because you are being led by His Spirit. May you embrace and walk in the reality that you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of sonship. In Jesus name receive this blessing and be blessed.
