“For to be free…

is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”
-Nelson Mandela

Glorious Monday, (only because it is my birthday!!)

I read a lot of blogs and advice books and articles and listen to motivational speakers, etc…I have noticed something or an advice that has become increasingly popular, that is, BE YOURSELF!!! There is no advice given these days that does not include being told to BE YOURSELF!

I think it is excellent that we are promoting freedom and encouraging people to be themselves. I think it is very necessary for people to know that they CAN and SHOULD be themselves. that said, we all need to do our part in making it happen.

we need to give people the freedom to be themselves

I have found that, many people, myself included get uncomfortable or annoyed when people actually start exercising their freedom. We encourage people to wear whatever they want and believe what ever they want, but as soon as they wear that colorful outfit, we start judging them and snickering and chuckling, etc..My question is, if we talk about people when they are BEING THEMSELVES, how do we expect them to completely be free?

I think it takes very strong individuals to carry on without being phased by people’s negative comments, we all wish to be them one day. But until then, we all need to lay back and keep telling people to BE THEMSELVES, and give them the freedom to accomplish that task.

stay free!!much love

P.S. the youtubers are doing this thing called “vlog everyday October” or something of that sort, I will participating, but since I’m not a vlogger, I will be blogging everyday October. I know I am like 13 days late, but better late than never
